The Word of God or Scriptures or as written on the outside "Bible or Holy Bible" is a very important fundamental truth that we as believers need in our lives. Without the Scriptures we would be lost as to what God wanted from us, who God is and what His plans were for mankind. It is unbelievable (at least for me) to think that Christians can say that they believe that the Bible/Scriptures is all written by man and NOT inspired by God. To believe in God but not in His Inspired Word is just beyond me.
2 Tim 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: KJV2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. KJVIn denying the authority of God in His Word they are 'taking away from or adding to' the Word, which is warned against 5 times in Scripture.
Deut 4:2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. KJV
Deut 12:32
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. KJV
Prov 30:6
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. KJV
Rev 22:18-19
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. KJV
What are we talking about when we say, the Scripture or Word of God? When I say those words I think of Genesis to Revelations. We are not to Add or Take away from Genesis to Revelations, if we diminish any part and I mean "any" part of Scripture we are compromising the very Word of God. So for instance, God said we are to "keep the Sabbath day Holy," this means the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Not Sunday, the 1st day of the week. Because Scripture says that the Sabbath is the 7th day not the 1st. (I will discuss the Sabbath more on another page.) We have compromised the Word of God by changing the Sabbath day. I cannot help it if this makes you mad. You can be mad at me, but it is God that you have to take it up with. Click here for verses about Sabbath.
