The day of Easter
is when we celebrate the resurrection of
our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. However,
should we call the day “Easter” or
should it be called “Resurrection
Day”?
Easter comes from the word “Istar"
or " Ishtar”: a female goddess of
fertility. Her celebration was marked by
the priestess having sex and doing
all sorts of unmentionable acts in the
name of this goddess.
The
word Easter is found in the King James
Version (translation) of the original text
of Greek and Hebrew. But if anyone were to
look up the word "Easter" in a
concordance of any kind they would find
that “Easter” is not the correct word.
The word should have been translated to
“Passover”. Yes your reading it
correctly; it is Passover. The day that
the Lamb of God, Jesus, died on the
execution stake (cross) for the sins of
the world. Passover has nothing to do
with the resurrection of Jesus but has
everything to do with His death on the
execution stake (cross). Somewhere down
the line, the day “Easter” was wrongly
translated for “Passover”. The day
became one to commemorate the resurrection
which we are not commanded to celebrate
instead of remembering His death,
Passover, a festival we are
commanded to keep.
Why was this done? We will not know
for sure until Jesus Himself sets things
straight. I think it is bad when we
celebrate a day that is pagan in origin
and change it to be Christian because we
want to keep with a man made error and
teaching that is against Scripture in
every sense of the word. God never
accepted it with Israel and He will not
accept it from us.
It boggles my mind that I actually thought
it was okay to celebrate a day that has
its origins in paganism and never thought
that it was strange or bad.
Celebrating a day that has nothing to do
with Jesus or Passover or His
Resurrection. To think that bunnies, eggs
and anything related to “Easter” was
of God and would be something He would do
is so outrageous! It amazes me that one
mention of this day “Easter” would and
did influence the whole entire Church.
If you look up "Easter" in the Strong's Concordance, you will find this definition:
" 3957
'Pascha' : The Passover (the meal, the
day, the festival or the special
sacrifices connected with it): Easter,
Passover."
I have asked God in His infinite mercy to
forgive me for recognizing a day that is
pagan and celebrating it in His Holy and
sacred Name when I should have been
celebrating Passover and His Holy Days
that He set up.
If we are going to celebrate the
resurrection of Jesus, we need to change
the name to “Resurrection Day” or
something that reflects the true
meaning of the day. We should quit
using “Easter” as the name so we
can put the Easter bunny out of business. We
should celebrate the resurrection in a way
that is holy and not with bunnies,
chicks, ducks, or anything that is
related to Easter. We should also
celebrate Resurrection Day on the 3rd
day after the Passover.
Let's start moving toward God and not stay
in the traditions of man. God gave us His
days for Celebrating: Passover, Pentecost,
Day of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and
Feast of Tabernacles. We don’t need our
man-made days, we have God’s.
