The Fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…

Where do we get the “Fear of the L-RD?”  I will show what the L-RD has shown me . And you can study it out and we will discuss it in the Egroups.

For years I wondered where I would get this “Fear of the L-RD”, I have always felt that just ‘fearing’ Him wasn’t what it mean. Nor did it just mean ‘revering’ Him. It was something that eluded me for years until recently that I found the answer by the help of the Spirit of Truth.

I love to read and I would read Psalms and Proverbs because I feel that they are full of wisdom. But the words “Fear of the L-RD” always made me wonder.  We read that the “Fear of the L-RD” is _________…   But where do we get this fear?  Is it something we get when we get saved? Or was it always going to be a mystery that would elude man?  Well, it would not elude those that search for the Truth from the Whole Word.

  Ps 19:7-9

7   The Law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
The Testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
8   The Statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The Commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9   The Fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The Judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
NKJV

The Fear of the LORD is clean (pure), enduring forever,….   This passage in Scripture sort of ‘hit’ me in the face the other day.  The Fear of the LORD is Pure or Clean. This is in a moral, chemical, physical and ceremonial way.  It ‘endures’ forever,  this made me think and read the verse above it.

The Torah of the LORD is Perfect.
The Testimony of the LORD is Sure.
The Statutes of the LORD are Right.
The Commandment of the LORD is Pure.
The Fear of the LORD is Clean.
The Judgments of the LORD is True and Righteous.

The Torah is considered the 1st Five books of the Bible, Genesis to Deuteronomy.

The Torah is also the Testimony of the LORD which was placed in the Ark of the Covenant under the Mercy Seat.

The Torah carries the Statutes, as well as the Commandment of the LORD.

The Torah is the Fear of the LORD

And the Judgments of the LORD are Contained in the Torah.

While looking up “Fear” I found these 3 verses that showed me that the Fear of the LORD is a Learned thing.

(Fill in the Blanks) : From King James Version

Deut 17:18-19

18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall _____ him a copy of this ___ in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall ____ therein all the days of his life: that he may ____ to fear the LORD his God, to ____  ___ the words of this law and these ________, to __ them: KJV

Deut 31:11-13

11 When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt ____ this ___ before all Israel in their _______.

12 Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may ____, and that they may _____, and fear the LORD your God, and _______ to do all the words of this___ :

13 And that their children, which have not known any thing, may ____, and _____ to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it. KJV

The Fear of the LORD as we can plainly see is something that is taught and learned.  It isn’t something we ‘think’ about when we pray or attend services.  It is a way of life for us. The Fear of the LORD is a “Fountain of Life”.  The Fear of the LORD “Prolongs Life.”

This all comes by reading, hearing and learning the Torah every single day of our lives. It helps us to know what is evil: The Fear of the LORD is to Hate Evil.  So that we will know “what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
Micah 6:8  KJV
